Making payments

At Yorkshire Bank, we have a range of options for you to get your money from A to B. Many of the payment types come free as standard with your account. When dealing with larger sums of money or international payments, you might choose one of our paid-for options.

We’ve listed our three most popular payments and a comparison table to help you select the option which suits your needs best.

Faster Payments

As a Yorkshire Bank customer you are able to receive and send Faster Payments into and from your account1. This allows quick telephone, mobile, internet and Standing Order payments between your account and other banks and building societies.

1 Payments will only be processed through the Faster Payments Service if both the bank / building society sending and receiving the payment are participants of the scheme.

More information

  • Payments can normally be made 24 hours2 a day, seven days a week.
  • Payments will normally be transferred immediately.
  • Payments can be made via mobile, internet banking and telephone banking within our transaction limits. However, each bank or building society has its own limits for Faster Payments which can vary from time to time.
  • If you need to make a payment over the limit, or if you need to guarantee same day payment, you should consider using CHAPS (fee applicable, please contact your branch or relationship manager).

2 This service may be temporarily unavailable during periods of routine maintenance.
