Our hub has been designed especially for you, with a wide variety of hints and tips to help you keep your home and contents safe.
Relax knowing you'll pay the same for a fixed period, even if interest rates change, with a fixed rate mortgage
Monthly repayments will remain the same for the duration of the fixed rate period. A range of fixed rate and other mortgages available. Applicants must be aged 18 or over. All loans are subject to status. UK residents only.
A mortgage Agreement in Principle is the first step towards your mortgage. It provides you with an indication of whether we could lend you the amount you need to borrow.
It only takes around 10 minutes to complete the form and get a result. We'll ask about your income and regular spending. We will undertake a soft credit search which has no impact on your credit file.
The information you provide will allow us to, in principle, agree to the amount you could borrow. If you then decide to apply for one of our mortgages, we’ll ask you to provide more detailed information about your circumstances.
An Agreement in Principle doesn’t guarantee you will be successful in a mortgage application, but it can give you an idea of how much we may be able to lend.
Please note we currently cannot provide an Agreement in Principle for interest only or buy to let mortgages. For more information on interest only or buy to let mortgages, contact us on 0800 023 2201. (Monday-Friday 8am-8pm, Saturday 9am-5pm and Sunday 10am-4pm).
Mortgage update from Yorkshire Bank
Following the Government guidance to “stay at home”, we have seen property valuers across the country stop all visits to homes for physical valuations.
Where possible, we will use alternative ways to value a property, such as desktop surveys and Automated Valuation Models – a computer estimate based on previous sales prices and property value indices. Unfortunately, this will not be available in all cases and therefore we have temporarily reduced the range of mortgages we can offer at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation closely, working hard to support as many customers as possible during this time.
ORContinue a saved Agreement in Principle (opens in a new window)
Once you’ve got an Agreement in Principle, you can choose to start your mortgage application online with Yorkshire Bank, if eligible.
All applications are subject to status and lending criteria. A final lending decision will be based on assessment of how much you could reasonably afford, your individual circumstances, your credit score and the suitability of your property for security of your mortgage amount.
Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage
If you already have an Agreement in Principle and would like to speak to one of our mortgage advisers call us on 0800 023 2201

We need to ensure it’s really you making the payment before the money leaves your account. How you do this depends on whether you’re using:
Will this happen every time I make a payment?
No, it’s not for every payment. Once saved the payment will become ‘Trusted’. That means you may not need to do the identity check again, unless you change details like the sort code, account number, name or reference.
What’s changed for your Business?
To make payments of more than £500, or totalling more than £1000 per day, you will now need to use the Mobile Banking App to verify your payments. Business customers using a One-Time Passcode will no longer be able to make payments greater than £500. Talk to us to learn more about the benefits of using the Mobile Banking App. Further info on your daily limits can be found here.
You may see a difference to when you’re asked to authenticate a payment via Business Internet Banking and the Mobile App, how you do this will remain the same by using:
