Use your phone or device for the quick way to pay in-store, online and more
You can pay with your Android device wherever you see the contactless or Google Pay logos. Quick to get going and easy to use, it’s simple.
First, you’ll need your Yorkshire Bank debit Mastercard or credit Mastercard.
Now, you’re ready to pay with Google Pay. Terms and conditions apply.
To keep you safe, you may be prompted to enter your screen unlock into your device to authorise a payment. If you are in store or on a transport network, you may need to tap your device against the terminal a second time to complete the payment.
Google Pay protects your payment info with multiple layers of security, using one of the world's most advanced security infrastructures to help keep your information safe.
Some retailers may set a limit for individual payments.
In-store
Just unlock your phone and hold it near the terminal. You don't even need to open the app.
Online
With Google Pay, you can pay with a few quick clicks in apps and on the web. No need to enter your payment info.
In-app
You can pay with Google Pay where you see the ‘Buy with Google Pay’ button. At checkout, simply select Google Pay as the payment method and follow the on-screen instructions.

It’s quick, simple and safe to make payments wherever you see the contactless or Google Pay logos. Just make sure you have a suitable Android device.

You can also use Google Pay in London to pay as you go on bus, tram, DLR, Underground, Overground, TFL Rail and most National Rail services.
Customers who have a Yorkshire Debit or Credit Mastercard are eligible to use Google Pay. The only Yorkshire Bank cards excluded are VISA and pre-paid currency cards.
To protect you from fraud, the value or number of payments you can make using Google Pay may be restricted, so please make sure you carry your debit and credit cards with you just in case. Some retailers may also limit individual payments to the contactless limit amount.
No. Yorkshire Bank doesn’t charge customers to set up Google Pay or to use it. However, an active data plan or Wi-Fi connection is needed to register. Based on your mobile plan and mobile network’s offering, additional message and data charges may apply.
Your usual debit and/or credit card charges apply to purchases.
Have your Yorkshire Bank debit Mastercard or credit Mastercard to hand.
You’re now ready to pay with Google Pay.
If near field communication (NFC) and device screen lock are inactive, you‘ll be prompted to switch them on, via your device settings, when setting up Google Pay.
Yes, you can add as many cards as you want. If you have a particular card that you prefer to use, then make sure this is the first card you set up, or make this the default card in your Google Pay settings.
As devices do not share cards, if you want the same card on two different devices, you will need to load the card onto each device separately.
It’s easy to remove your debit or credit card. Select the relevant card in Google Pay then select ‘remove card’ at the bottom of the screen. This will remove the card instantly.

In-app
You can pay with Google Pay where you see the ‘Buy with Google Pay’ logo. When you checkout, simply select Google Pay as the payment method and follow the on-screen instructions.
When you view your card in the wallet, you’ll be able to see the last 10 transactions made using Google Pay on that device. Any Debit card transactions will appear in statements, internet banking and our banking apps as 'WLT'. Any Credit card transactions will appear as a normal contactless transaction.
All retailers who accept contactless payments will accept Google Pay whether they’re in the UK or overseas. Different transaction limits will apply depending on which country you’re in.
If you use Google Pay to pay with a card overseas, standard overseas charges will apply according to your card terms and conditions. Based on your mobile plan and mobile network’s offering, additional message data charges and foreign transaction fees may also apply.

If, in some places, a refund can’t be paid directly back to the device on which the transaction was made, then the retailer can make the refund back to your plastic card instead. For this reason, always make sure you have your plastic card handy if you require a refund. When the refund is made you’ll see it in your bank statement as normal.

If your device is ever lost or stolen you can easily find, lock, and delete your details from a device using Android Device Manager.
Please contact us as soon as you can. We will cancel the lost card so that no further purchases can be made and arrange for a replacement card to be issued. For Debit cards, there will be a short break in service (around 24 hours) while the link between your digital token and your new debit card is updated, this is done automatically for you. You can then continue to use Google Pay while you wait on your physical card to arrive. For Credit cards, this link will be updated on the same day so you can continue to use your card on your device.
Android Device Manager will help you find, lock, and delete your details from a device. Also, you can enter "Find my device" on Google.com and it will show you where it is on a map.
If you replace or update your device, you’ll need to add your card(s) again to Google Pay using the same set up process as you did before.
Be sure to remove your card(s) from Google Pay if you sell your phone or no longer use it.

You should only input these codes to our secure Business Internet Banking service when you’re sending and making payments. If anyone calls and asks for a token 3 response code or asks you to authorise a payment on the App for fraud checks, hang up and call us on 0800 085 2914 from another line if possible, remember the Bank will never ask you to disclose your security details.
