Engineering company secures property with Yorkshire Bank

Archerdale Ltd is an engineering company manufacturing and supplying fasteners, brackets and turned parts for businesses throughout the UK and Europe. They have a strong customer base in the rail and transportation industries. The company was established in Saltaire over 30 years ago, for more than half of that time has operated out of the same units at Hirstwood Works.

During their tenure at the Works, they have only ever rented the property. Yorkshire Bank recently supported Archerdale in financing the purchase of units 1-5 their current base.

This purchase of the property removes any possibility that Archerdale may have needed to uproot the business when their lease expired. The purchase is a positive for the business and the local community – keeping this long established manufacturing business, which employs around 30 staff, in the area. For the business, it’s a positive step to both reduce uncertainty and minimise the amount of cash tied up in the property.

In the past year, the business came to Yorkshire Bank for their day-to-day banking. The commitment to support Archerdale shown by their Relationship Manager was a major factor in their decision to switch banks.

Glyn Brown from Archerdale said “Yorkshire Bank's support has been key for us. Our relationship manager Graham Cairns understood what we needed and was there every step of the way. What we now have is a permanent home which means we can focus on building our business without worrying about what might happen to our premises. The certainty that this deal has brought means we can start the New Year with renewed vigour and focus”
