Swinton-based Avago Karting is in the fast lane for growth after purchasing 12 new go karts with £40,000 funding support from Yorkshire Bank.
The faster and environmentally friendly Sodi-Kart vehicles have replaced some of the older models in the fleet.
Fitted with catalytic converters, the petrol Sodi-Karts will reduce costs as well as emissions.
Funding for the purchase was facilitated by Nick Leatherland, Relationship Manager at Yorkshire Bank’s Business and Private Banking Centre in South Yorkshire.
Avago Karting was set up in 1995 by Steve Sutton who still manages the business.
From their base in Swinton, the family firm has entertained over 400,000 drivers over its lifespan including stag and hen dos, birthday and children’s parties.
Steve said: “We’re always very busy, so the karts put in a lot of miles. Having the new vehicles up and running means that we can reduce our emissions, costs and keep our customers in the fast lane.
“By upgrading our stock, we have secured the business’ future in the area for years to come. We have a solid platform for growth and are always looking for opportunities to improve and expand.”
Kevin Elliott, Head of Yorkshire bank’s Business and Private Banking Centre in South Yorkshire, said: “Yorkshire Bank is proud to support businesses investing in their future.
“Avago is well-known and respected locally, and the new additions to the fleet should help them continue to prosper and grow.”
