Yorkshire Bank has opened a new flagship branch on Briggate in leeds.
The new Leeds City branch is part of a £45 million investment programme by the Bank to upgrade facilities to meet changing customer needs. The programme includes a UK-wide schedule of branch relocations and refits plus improved and new mobile and internet banking services.
Replacing the former branch at Kirkgate, the new branch offers extended opening hours and is one of the largest locations in the Bank’s network, conveniently located in the heart of the city’s retail sector at 94-96 Briggate.
Split over two storeys and almost 20,000 square foot of floor space, the new office will eventually house more than 130 employees across a range of functions including the Business and Private Banking and Customer Support Centres.
The new Leeds City branch showcases a contemporary, open plan design, featuring three counter positions, three open consultation positions, two private interview rooms and two open interview rooms for less formal conversations. The branch also utilises digital screens, providing customers with live product information and community activity, and incorporates displays in the Banking Hall of some of Yorkshire Bank’s archive material, demonstrating the history and heritage of the Bank.
The flagship branch will also be piloting the introduction of new customer self-service machines, which in addition to offering cash withdrawal facilities like traditional ATMs, will enable customers to deposit cheques and cash themselves. Customers will also be able to take advantage of complimentary refreshments and WIFI.
Emma Jo Beadle, Bank Manager at Yorkshire Bank Leeds City, said: “We’re delighted to move to this fantastic new flagship branch on Briggate, which underlines our commitment to the city. While customers expect us to deliver flawless service, we also want them to have an enjoyable, 21st century banking experience.”
Steve Fletcher, Director, Retail Banking, said: “While customers’ needs are changing and we are delivering new services to meet them, branches continue to be a really important part of how we ensure customers have a great banking experience with us. This is an excellent new flagship branch in the heart of Leeds and we’re looking forward to continuing to serve the local community.”
The Leeds City branch is open longer for added convenience. The opening hours are 9:00am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday and 9:00am to 4:00pm on Saturday.
