Clydesdale Bank team celebrate 145 years of service

Six members of Clydesdale Bank’s Business and Private Banking team in Inverness are celebrating after reaching career service milestones.

George Moodie, Stewart McTavish, Dave Davidson, Gillian Ross, Doug Green and Shelley Waters, are all based at Clydesdale Bank’s Highlands and Islands Business and Private Banking Centre and are celebrating an extraordinary 145 years of service between them.

All six are also highly active in the local community, supporting a number of organisations and helping to fundraise for local charities.

George joined Clydesdale Bank in his native Golspie 25 years ago, aged 17. He has worked in branches throughout the Highlands and Islands at various stages in his career. Due in part to his quarter century of experience across the region, George was appointed Head of Centre for the Highlands and Islands in February this year. George also volunteers as a football coach for Milton of Leys who won the local Winter League this year and were Scottish Schools National finalists.

Stewart McTavish and Dave Davidson have each been with Clydesdale bank for 35 years. With management experience in various Aberdeen branches, Stewart moved to Inverness in 2004 to take on the role of Commercial Relationship Manager. Dave joined the Bank in 1980 in the Fife Keith branch, working in a number of different roles across the Highlands & Islands and Moray. He quickly progressed and is now nine years into his role as Credit Executive.

Celebrating two decades with Clydesdale Bank, Gillian Ross started her career in Elgin, moving on to various roles across Moray and Inverness where she is now City Director Associate.

Doug Green and Shelley Waters are both marking 15 years of service. Doug is a Private Relationship Manager covering the entire Highlands and Islands area having previously held a number of in-branch roles. Doug recently organised a professional firms quiz night in aid of Highland Hospice which raised £1300 towards the Project Build Appeal.

Shelley has recently been appointed as Commercial Manager for Moray. Born and raised in Elgin, she has a deep understanding of the needs of businesses in the area and a great deal of personal connection to the community. As well as her role at the Bank, Shelley volunteers as Secretary for Moray Business Women and as a Supervisor and Support Worker at Avenue Child Contact Centre in Elgin.

“It’s quite remarkable that so many members of the team have reached such significant milestones within a matter of weeks of each other.

“Not only are they an inspiration to their colleagues, but they have spent much of the careers serving the local community, and I know they are focused on continuing to support their customers in the region.”
