Businesses in Doncaster have been given fresh insight on how the use of emerging technologies can help transform their services and achieve fresh growth. Yorkshire Bank recently (Tues 13) held its latest ‘Hour Well Spent’ event as part of its Business Week programme.
Held in association with Doncaster Chamber of Commerce the guest speaker was Trevor Higgins, regional partnership director at BT. He focused on the opportunities offered by the expanding network of superfast broadband through the roll of out a fibre optic network which is opening up potential for new services such as faster transactions, higher quality online offerings, cloud driven applications, computer back up, storage, as well as high quality video conferencing with customers.
The seminar follows the success of a similar event in November which was designed to help local businesses understand how to present a credit application which allows the bank to obtain a greater understanding of the business, which in turn increases the chance of successful funding requests.
Kevin Elliot, head of Yorkshire Bank’s Business and Private Banking Centre in Doncaster said:
“We know from experience that more of our customers are looking to develop their online offering and the roll out of superfast broadband is just the latest way of driving growth.
“The feedback we had from our recent event in Doncaster looking at credit applications suggested there was an appetite for similar bite sized sessions with business leaders valuing the access to relevant information which they could use to make business decisions.
“Through Business Week we are bringing hundreds of local businesses together to learn from them and to provide solutions to help achieve sustainable growth.”
