A leading orthodontist is getting his teeth into the care home sector with help from Yorkshire Bank.
Highpoint Care Ltd, established by Liverpool orthodontist Hemant Patel, has acquired a brand new, purpose-built care home after receiving funding from Yorkshire Bank to assist with the £4.5m purchase price.
Specialising in elderly and dementia care, Colliers Croft Care Home, located in Haydock, in the St. Helens area of Merseyside, is a state-of-the-art residential facility providing en-suite accommodation for 60 residents.
The deal was delivered by business development manager David Hunt, who is based at Yorkshire Bank’s Business and Private Banking Centre in Stafford.
Set over three floors, Colliers Croft Care Home’s spacious surroundings include several lounges and an on-site hairdressing salon with a café area. It also incorporates the latest facilities in dementia care and age appropriate design.
The new home has created 35 jobs and provides much needed quality care locally. Almost half of the bedrooms, each of which is equipped with a flat screen television, mini-fridge and Wi-Fi coverage, were reserved prior to the opening of the facility last month [September].
Colliers Croft Care Home is owned and operated by Highpoint Care, a new care provider.
Hemant Patel, managing director of Highpoint Care, said the company plans to establish a chain of up to five residential homes within the next five years.
Hemant said: “With support from Yorkshire Bank, Highpoint Care is changing the face of the care home sector. Colliers Croft sets new standards for the industry not just locally, but also nationally.
“We chose Yorkshire Bank as our funding partner as its in-depth knowledge of the care home sector is crucial to our ambitions of opening a number of quality facilities over the coming years.
“We have already established a good relationship with David Hunt and the Yorkshire Bank team, and we look forward to developing the business with their continued help and expertise.”
While developing the business, Hemant will continue to run his practice, The Liverpool Brace Place. He also lectures at the University of Central Lancashire’s School of Medicine and Dentistry.
Derek Breingan, Yorkshire Bank’s head of healthcare, said: “With its contemporary design, luxurious surroundings and excellent facilities, Colliers Croft Care Home will be a significant boost to care home provision in the St. Helens area.
“As the population ages, there will be increased demand for residential care homes, especially those with first class services such as those offered by Highpoint Care.”
