Ian Howey, area director with Yorkshire Bank’s Corporate & Structured Finance team in the Midlands, has been named Corporate Banker of the Year for the third year running.

Ian, who has been with the Bank for six years and was instrumental in launching the CSF team in the Midlands, has worked on a number of significant deals in recent years including the management buy-out of Synseal Extrusions in Sutton-in-Ashfield and the Tertiary MBO of Teaching Personnel and subsequent acquisition of Protocol Education.

Ian was presented with the award at the Insider Midlands Dealmakers Awards 2011 hosted at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel.

Ian Howey, said: “To be recognised by the Midlands dealmaking community is a tremendous honour for me and the team and an acknowledgement of the work we have done in terms of supporting existing clients and backing new deals.

“The Midlands dealmaking community is experiencing a particularly challenging period and the next few years are likely be as demanding, which makes this award even more satisfying as we know Yorkshire Bank Corporate and Structured Finance offers real choice in the local market.”
