A state-of-the-art children’s nursery, retail and leisure centre is nearing completion after a £1.2 million finance package was agreed with Yorkshire Bank.
Local businessmen Michael Anderson and his co-director Mark Holden, will officially launch The Hub in Buckshaw Village, Chorley, on Wednesday July 20.
The project is set to create over 50 new jobs at its nursery school, based on Unity Place, which will also offer the public a swimming pool, café and an adults and children hair salon.
Michael and Mark, joint owners of plastering and drylining business Red Rose Drylining, started the venture after the success of a previous project, Riverside Nursery in Lower Darwen.
The Hub will provide a nursery experience to children aged up to 11 years old and will be the only nursery and swimming pool in the local area, which covers more than 500 homes.
Paul Ratcliffe, a business partner at Yorkshire Bank’s Blackburn FSC, said: “We have been dealing with Mark and Michael for over 25 years so are fully aware of their determination and business acumen.
“The Hub has been in the planning for well over two years and it is fantastic to see the project almost finished. Not only is it a great addition to the business portfolio, it will also provide employment and much needed facilities that will benefit the whole community.”
The nursery school will offer extra teaching tuition for pupils in English, Maths, French and Music, while the swimming pool will include aqua natal classes, aqua mobility and adult group swimming lessons.
Mark Holden commented: “We have been delighted with the continued support from Yorkshire Bank to allow us to develop The Hub. The feedback from the public has been really positive since the proposals were first released and we look forward to it becoming an important part of the local community.”
