Yorkshire Bank will be lending its support to the England cricket team when the third Ashes Test gets underway at Edgbaston later this week.

Clydesdale Bank, Yorkshire Bank’s sister company, is sponsoring opening batsman Alastair Cook’s bat throughout the series, and they will be hoping he repeats his last tally at Edgbaston.

The opener cracked an impressive 124 in England’s warm-up match against Warwickshire earlier this month.

That was just 26 runs short of the total he needed to synergise with the 150th anniversary that his bat sponsors Yorkshire Bank are celebrating this year.

Staff from Yorkshire Bank’s Financial Solutions Centre (FSC) in Birmingham will be willing Cook on to success against Ricky Ponting’s side.
