Yorkshire Bank backs new self contained care development

22 January 2007

A Blackpool based specialist care provider has launched an innovative multi-million pound self-contained residential development for the elderly in St Annes.

The ICare Group has set up Links View Mature Living, which is one of the first developments of its kind in the region, with substantial backing from Yorkshire Bank's Financial Solutions Centre in Preston.

Work is already underway on the one acre site overlooking St Annes Golf Club, which is due to complete in winter 2007.

Links View Mature Living is aimed at the over 60s and comprises 59 self-contained apartments with prices starting at £139,995.

The development offers communal facilities including a gym, library, restaurant, hairdressing salon and cinema room, as well as state-of-the-art technology that maximises the safety and independence of residents. It also offers a varied activity programme and, uniquely, later life care facilities, such as medication management, washing and dressing services.

Stephen Emmanuel, from the ICare Group, said: "Links View Mature Living offers residents independence in an attractive and secure environment whilst also making provision for their long-term care needs should it prove necessary.

"This way the loss of independence and the heavy financial drain associated with residential care is avoided.

"This is an exciting project for us which has been driven forward by the support of Yorkshire Bank to help make this brand new care concept a reality."

Andy Nurse, business banking partner at Yorkshire Bank's Financial Solutions Centre in Preston, adds: "Yorkshire Bank is delighted to support such an innovative project that will not only add value to the ICare Group but also benefit the elderly community right across the Fylde."

Land & New Homes Countrywide is acting as agents for the development, which has already secured several reservations from potential buyers.
