Yorkshire chosen for major new banking facility

13/08/07

YORKSHIRE'S booming entrepreneurial culture has seen the region being selected for a major new service from Yorkshire Bank.

The bank's Financial Solutions Centres (FSC) throughout the region will be supported by a new Leeds-based Credit Team able to make lending decisions up to £75m without having to refer to the bank's main board.

Yorkshire Bank says that the launch of the new service will make it the only bank in the region able to make fast, local credit decisions up to such a high value. The previous highest credit decision which could be made locally by each FSC was £10m.

Managing partner of Yorkshire Bank's Leeds FSC, Patrick Walton, says: "Yorkshire is continuing to experience good growth through its entrepreneurial culture and this move demonstrates our commitment to be at the heart of this growth.

"In a fast-moving economy, businesses need a quick response. This new facility will strengthen local decision-making by enabling our credit teams to visit clients and their projects more easily and provide businesses with faster decisions, supported by local knowledge, which is how it should be for a bank founded in Yorkshire."

The facility will be available through all Yorkshire Bank's Yorkshire FSCs in Leeds, York, Bradford, Doncaster and Sheffield.
