12/07/07

The UK's best performing business bank has appointed a new Director to its Midlands-based team.

Nigel Wood, who has more than twenty years experience of personal and business banking, has joined Yorkshire Bank's Specialist & Acquisition Finance (SAF) team in Birmingham.

The growing Midlands team is part of a rapidly expanding national network of Yorkshire and Clydesdale Bank acquisition specialists focusing on mid-market private equity transactions.

In his new role, Nigel will work with both clients and advisors seeking finance for MBOs/ MBIs, corporate acquisitions and refinancing.

A career-long employee of Yorkshire Bank, Nigel has worked in various roles in Manchester, Leeds and Bolton and has held senior business banking roles in Manchester, Coventry, and Birmingham.

"Having worked for Yorkshire Bank for more than twenty years - and in the Midland's for the last seven - I am excited to be able to apply my business banking experience in a more deals focused environment," said Nigel.

"Increasingly businesses are looking to acquisition as a means to expand, and the Midlands has a great deal of companies looking to use this route as a way to take their business to the next level.

"Our SAF specialists have a wealth of experience in delivering high value deals and work closely with the business banking teams across Yorkshire Bank's network of Financial Solutions Centres, to give clients a fully integrated service," he said.
