Yorkshire Bank is waving the chequered flag for a leading local automotive spare parts company to expand into North West Derbyshire.
Minorfern, which distributes vehicle spare parts across South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire, has been a Yorkshire Bank customer for more than 20 years. So when time came to purchase a new depot in Buxton the Sheffield-based Bank team was well placed to support Minorfern with a comprehensive finance package.
Trading under the name SDL Buxton, Minorfern will distribute components to the region from the Buxton site which has 360 garages within half an hour's drive of the town centre. A family owned business, Minorfern has grown from its Chesterfield base to being one of the best known and most highly regarded distributors in North Derbyshire and South Yorkshire.
Steve Wicks, business partner at Yorkshire Bank's financial solutions centre, comments: "Our position at the heart of the local economy means we can provide tailored financial advice to suit our members. We recognised the opportunity for Minorfern and tailored the finance and advice to their needs."
Peter Holland, managing director of Minorfern adds: "The relationship we have built with the Yorkshire Bank has been a major part of our success. From planning to completion, we have received exactly the kind of support necessary. Steve Wicks and the team delivered financial support above and beyond what many banks would consider possible, and I look forward to working with Yorkshire Bank as we grow our business."
Steve continues: "The way business partners and specialists work side by side at Yorkshire Bank means we were able to deliver a competitive lending arrangement which will be flexible for Minorfern should things change down the track - something very important to businesses of this size."
The company also operates SDL branches in Sheffield and Derby and a branch under the Minorfern brand in Chesterfield.
Yorkshire Bank has just been voted the best bank for business customers in the UK according to Britain's leading survey into how small businesses view their banks, conducted by the Forum of Private Business.
