Say hello to brighter business banking

Yorkshire Bank has joined forces with Virgin Money to become a bigger, better and brighter Business bank.

Over the next few months, you’ll start to see our new logo on things like statements and emails. Our website and digital services are getting the full Virgin Money treatment and we’ll begin to answer the phone as Virgin Money too.

There’s nothing you need to do – we’ll take care of it all. Your account and any login details will stay the same and you can still get in touch using the normal contact information. Most importantly, your relationship management team will not change and they’ll still be on hand to offer you and your business the same expert support that they do today.

Things you might want to know

Why is Yorkshire Bank being re-branded to Virgin Money and what are the benefits of this?

We are very proud to be bringing Yorkshire Bank and Clydesdale Bank together with Virgin Money, under the Virgin brand. This move will provide us with a national reach, great accounts, services and facilities available to all, packaged in a brand which is focused on great customer service and innovation.

What is happening to the things I value about Yorkshire Bank and Clydesdale Bank?

Don’t worry. The best bits of Yorkshire Bank and Clydesdale Bank are not going away. In fact, we plan to make them even better with the kind of innovation that’s defined Virgin brands for decades. All the facilities and services customers have come to trust and depend upon will continue to be available.

When is the change happening?

You’ll see more of our Virgin Money makeover very soon. You may have seen some Yorkshire Bank and Clydesdale Bank branches have already been converted to Virgin Money Stores. The next change will be from spring 2021, when Business Current Accounts, Business Savings Accounts and Term Deposit Accounts will be re-branded to Virgin Money. If you have one of those accounts we will be in touch in the New Year to tell you more.

Will I receive a new Virgin Money Debit Card?

From spring 2021 onwards, where your existing Debit Card is due to expire, we will send you a new Virgin Money Debit Card. There’s no need to worry if your existing Debit card is not due to expire soon. You can continue to use it.

Will I see any changes to my Internet Banking and Mobile Banking apps?

Yes, you will see Business Internet Banking being re-branded as Virgin Money, however all existing functionality and services will remain unchanged (no need for new logins or passwords). Mobile Banking is also getting a makeover (including easier toggling between Business and Personal banking) and when it is ready we will encourage you to download the new Virgin Money app.

When will the Yorkshire Bank website change?

You’ll start to see changes land in Spring next year as we move content from our ybonline.co.uk domain to virginmoney.com. Don’t worry - it will all be easy to follow, and you will still be able to login to your products and find the online help you need.

Will my account numbers or sort-codes change?

No. Your account number and sort code will stay the same.

Will my cheque/ pay in book change?

Not immediately. As you receive new Chequebooks and Pay-In books these will be branded Virgin Money.

I am a direct debit originator do I need to change my mandates?

No. Everything will stay the same.

Do I need to advise people who pay me directly?

No. Your account details will remain the same.

Am I able to use any of the Virgin Stores for banking?

We are in the process of integrating the servicing capabilities for both heritages across our network. All our Virgin Stores will have the capability to service both heritage CYB and Virgin by March 2021.
