Homes for Ukraine scheme

Yorkshire Bank is fully supportive of the UK government’s Homes for Ukraine scheme, set up to provide accommodation in the UK to Ukrainian refugees and their immediate family members.

If you would like to participate, you can register your interest on the government’s webpage.

We recommend that you carefully consider taking part in the scheme, ensuring your mortgage remains affordable to you and that you keep up to date with your mortgage payments.

Please read the governments Homes for Ukraine frequently asked questions for further support and details.

To help make the process as simple as possible, we do not require our mortgage customers to notify us.

If you are allowing Ukrainian refugees to reside in your residential property, there’s no need to request consent to let. If you will be residing elsewhere, you may also wish to request that we re-direct your account mail. Please contact our service team on 0800 121 4203 we’re here 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 5pm on Wednesdays.

We’d like to take this opportunity to confirm that Virgin Money Home Insurance policy terms & conditions remain unchanged where the policy holder(s) remain residing in the property and open their home to Ukrainian individuals.

If you have a Help to Buy or Shared Ownership agreement, it is recommended that you inform your scheme provider if you are participating in the scheme.

As more information is shared, we will continue to update our website.

If you’re struggling to make your mortgage payments, your mortgage is already in arrears and/or your property is being repossessed please call us on 0800 141 2261 we're here 8am - 7pm Monday to Friday as participating in the scheme could have a further negative impact on your ability to make your mortgage payments and your property may be at risk. Alternatively, you can seek free independent financial advice from one of our partners such as PayPlan or Step Change.
