Your card is protected by Mastercard SecureCode. It’s our way of making sure you have a safe online shopping experience when you use your Yorkshire Bank credit card online.
When you use your card in shops and restaurants, it uses the latest chip and PIN technologies to beat the fraudsters. When you use your card online, Mastercard SecureCode protects you even more. Pay with your card online and you’ll be asked to enter a personal password, known only to you. This makes sure no one else can use your card online.
You need to register to make sure your credit card is covered.

Yes. Any joint or additional cardholders on your card account can register their own card.
Not all, but many do. You can still use your card with online retailers who don’t offer SecureCode – just use their normal checkout procedure.
Even if you haven’t registered, you’ll be asked for your SecureCode when you pay with your Mastercard at a participating retailer, and given the option to register at that time. If you decide not to register, they might decline your transaction.
Mastercard SecureCode works with most modern browsers. If you have software that blocks pop-up windows you might have to disable that.
