How do I open and manage my account?
B Current account & B Instant Savings Account come together. The B Instant Savings Account will remain open, provided the B Current Account is maintained as described in the Terms and Conditions.
There are no minimum or maximum balance restrictions or need to pay in on a regular basis.
The B account is available for anyone from the age of 16. If you want to apply online, you'll need to be at least 18. Subject to status.
The B app automatically tags the majority of your purchases so it’s easy to see, in just a couple of taps, where you’re spending your hard-earned cash. Plus, set up budgets using tags and the app will keep track of how well you’re sticking to them.
Saving for a car? Putting cash aside for a rainy day? Adding to the Christmas fund? With the B app, you can separate your savings into different pots with different goals, all in one account.
As it tracks your spending, your B app can let you know what you’re projected to finish the month with, and give handy insights into the way you spend.
With stories, you can get handy insights into how you spend money – such as how many purchases you’ve made under £10 (you might be surprised how quickly they add up!) and how much cash you’ve withdrawn.
As long as you have a smartphone or tablet running iOS 10 (or above) or Android 5.0 Lollipop or above, you can make use of the super smart B app. You can still access your accounts through your desktop or laptop, but won’t be able to use the full range of features.

Some people find money boring and hard to control. And banks inflexible. B is designed to turn that on its head. The more you use it, the more it learns about you; shaping itself around your habits and goals, and sharing helpful insights about your spending. It acts a bit like a life coach for your finances, putting you back in control.
Yes, you can. You can visit any Clydesdale Bank or Yorkshire Bank branch for support.
There are two different types of overdraft charge, Monthly Arranged Overdraft Fee and Daily Unarranged Overdraft Fee.
For an arranged overdraft, B will give customers 2 business days’ grace period per calendar month before the Monthly Arranged Overdraft Fee is charged.
For an unarranged overdraft, B will give customers 2 business days before the Daily Unarranged Overdraft Fee is charged – customers qualify for another grace period when they reduce their unarranged overdraft to less than the buffer amount.
B will also send daily text messages to customers when they enter the grace period, to prompt them to take action to correct their balance.
B comes with a current account and a savings account. There is no option to open one without the other. The savings account is free and there is no stipulation that you are required to pay a certain amount into this account.
