Matthew Smith, who lives in North Ferriby, has operated in the ports and logistics sector for more than five years and is one of few bankers to be a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. He also helps businesses with supply chain finance.

Matthew was attracted to Yorkshire Bank’s FSC concept which creates multi-discipline teams of bankers able to consider clients’ banking needs holistically and makes fast credit decisions locally.

Matthew Smith says: “The Humber ports are in region’s top three business growth sectors and, collectively, have the greatest import tonnage in the UK. The sector’s specialist banking needs typically include bank debt, asset finance and invoice discounting and Yorkshire Bank’s FSC concept is attractive to them because it means that these services can be delivered locally just through me.”
