Déjà vu as Yorkshire MIPIM returns for Leeds

20/02/08

A touch of the French Riviera comes to Leeds next month (March) when more than a 100 property and related professionals attend the second alternative MIPIM event in the city.

The two-day event, which starts on March 11, will include a property quiz and a dinner with French cuisine and wine and follows last year’s inaugural `Yorkshire MIPIM’ which attracted more than a hundred property professionals left in the city while their colleagues went to the main MIPIM conference in France.

MIPIM is the world’s premier property conference held annually in Cannes, France, and attended by thousands of leading property professionals who meet to shape the future of the industry.

This year’s first `Yorkshire MIPIM’ event is an invitation-only dinner and quiz for property professionals at the Leeds Club hosted by Businessdesk.Com editor, David Parkin, on March 11, followed by lunchtime drinks and dinner at the Waterhole, Leeds, on March 13 for which more than 150 tickets were sold within the first week.

The whole event is being sponsored jointly by Yorkshire Bank’s Leeds Financial Solutions Centre (FSC), which has a specialist Structured Property Finance Team, accountants and business advisors, Grant Thornton and property consultants King Sturge.

Managing partner of Yorkshire Bank’s Leeds FSC, Patrick Walton, says: “Yorkshire is a very busy place to do business and many important professionals are left behind while their colleagues attend the main French MIPIM event.

“The success of last year’s first `Yorkshire MIPIM’ exceeded our expectations. While we cannot promise the same weather as the French Riviera, we are sure that many professionals will benefit from new connections and have a great time which can only benefit the region’s property industry.”
