Deals advisor Martin joins Yorkshire Bank

11/06/2008

Corporate finance advisor Martin Poole has joined Yorkshire Bank as a director of its specialist & acquisition finance team in Birmingham.

Martin joins from Clearwater Corporate Finance in Birmingham. At Yorkshire Bank he will be helping to identify lending opportunities and delivering innovative debt and mezzanine solutions, primarily between £5 and £25 million.

A qualified chartered accountant, Martin spent eight years with the former accountancy firm Robson Rhodes, specialising in corporate finance, before joining Clearwater in 2004 where he worked on a wide range of mid-market transactions. They included the MBO of global hair extensions brand Racoon International, the £14 million acquisition of stadium catering specialist Lindley Catering by Sovereign Partners LLP and the disposal of one of the UK’s leading teacher recruitment firms Teaching Personnel to RJD Partners.

Martin, who lives in Birmingham, says: “I was excited by the market opportunities that Yorkshire Bank has, the experience of the team and its enthusiasm for lending. The new role will allow me to continue using my corporate finance skills but from a different perspective and within a different environment.”

Regional director Ian Howey adds: “Martin is well known and highly regarded within the Midlands deals community and is familiar with the key players. Having worked on some of the region’s high profile deals, he brings additional expertise to the team and a different perspective as we continue to build on our success in the Midlands market.”

Yorkshire Bank’s Midlands specialist & acquisition finance team has supported deals to the value of £100m within the last 12 months.
