CFH recently acquired Slough based business Print For Business, and has ambitious plans to buy other mailing companies, with on-going support from the Bank’s Midlands & South West Corporate team.
Founded 30 years ago in Radstock near Bath, the family- run business employs 260 staff and turns over £28million.
Despite a decline in many areas of the traditional printing industry, CFH has developed internet-based product lines that have enabled it to generate impressive expansion.
These include Docmail, the UK’s leading hybrid mail service, which has grown to become an important part of the business. Docmail involves CFH printing and mailing on behalf of customers, who control the entire on-demand process from their PC.
CFH has also developed Docmail Local Post, an environmentally friendly city mail delivery service, currently undergoing trials in Bath and Bristol, which uses regional depots and delivers mail by bicycle.
Another activity that enables CFH to succeed in the difficult printing sector is its regulatory driven secure printing service, which involves producing documents such as ballot papers for local authorities and company share certificates.
Commenting on the deal, Dave Broadway, CFH Managing Director, said: “We are focused on extending our printing and mailing services as well as our Docmail local post delivery service. Our intention is to buy mailing companies in strategic areas of the country to roll out our end-to-end delivery services. We cover the South West, Scotland and the west of London, and the next stage is to target the Midlands and the North.
“We moved to the Bank just over a year ago and their support for our planned growth has been very good. Without their backing in support of our own cash reserves, we would not be in a position to implement our strategy.”
